Styled Shoot - James Tiffany Photography

California Photographer James Tiffany recently borrowed some of our dresses for a gorgeous styled shoot in the Wisconsin woods. Even though there wasn't a single snowflake on the ground, the moody & atmospheric background added to the earthy tones of the shoot. We love when photographers and designers do something different, which means we absolutely love these photos.

The Bartolotta Wedding Showcase at The Grain Exchange

We were so excited to be included in the 2016 Wedding Showcase at The Grain Exchange.
It was easily one of the most beautiful wedding shows we have ever attended! From the lights to the martinis (and everything in between), Bartolotta Catering showed everyone exactly how amazing they are at what they do.

Take a look at our pictures from this beautiful event.

The Venue

The Grain Exchange is somewhat of a hidden gem. The soaring ceilings and old-world architectural details are unmatched when it comes to wedding venues in the area. We can't imagine any bride not wanting to celebrate here on her big day.

The Vendors

Milwaukee's best photographers, bakers, and event planners joined Miss Ruby's bridal stylists at the event to help brides see how their wedding can come together. The beauty is in the details, and the vendors at the show were all there to get those details done!

The Display

Our Miss Ruby table sought to reflect some of our store's signature style. Our Miss Ruby stylists Hillary and Valerie spoke to other vendors, chatted with great brides-to-be, and even snagged a "Something Blue" martini from the bar after the event! Cheers to next year!

Wonderful World of Weddings Recap

We had a great time at the Wonderful World of Weddings, an annual event that showcases Southeastern Wisconsin's best wedding vendors. Take a look below at some behind-the-scene photos from this years event!

The Booth

This year, we really wanted the gorgeous look and feel of our boutique to be reflected in our display. We took some antique accessories that are usually scattered around our store and paired them with a glitzy gold backdrop, which sparkled as brightly as our bridal belts!

The Fashion Show

We were honored to have our gowns featured in the big fashion show! The stage was beautiful and the models were incredibly entertaining (especially the kids!) Judging from all of the cheering in the crowd, everyone enjoyed the show!

The Vendors

Some of our favorite Milwauke vendors were present, too! From gorgeous displays to interactive photo booths, everyone who attended definitely brought their A-Game!

We Can't Wait Until Next Year!

Bridesmaids Colors By Season

Mis-matched dresses are the biggest trend for 2016 Bridesmaids. Creating a cohesive color palette rather than picking one color gives you lots of flexibility & ensures that every girl in your bridal party wears a color and cut that makes them feel confident.

While the result looks effortlessly chic, picking colors that don't clash can be a challenge - that's why we created some color combinations that work together perfectly - Use them for inspiration, but be sure to sit down with a professional (like a  Miss Ruby stylist) so that your bridesmaids look picture perfect and not like a Pinterest fail.

Spring

Why It Works:
Mixing shades of blue is a great idea for a fresh Spring wedding look, but "anchor" colors such as Blush or Charcoal make those blue tones stand out. They are thoughtfully included to give your blue hues a delightful contrast.

Our Spring color palette uses various shades from the Dessy Bridesmaids collection. Not only does the chiffon knit provide more warmth for your 'maids in colder months, it also has a great texture that chiffons or satins simply don't provide.

Summer

Why It Works:
Mixing together too many Summer colors can look like a mess. Bright Pinks, Corals, Yellows, and Blues may remind us of warmer weather, but can look childish when put together in the wrong way.

Our Summer palette borrows colors from a sunset, incorporating colors that all have a golden undertones. Here, soft corals pair well with champagne and golds. Add a few rich, dark pinks and the result is sunny and sophisticated!

Autumn

Why It Works:
Jewel tones are such an easy pick for a fall wedding. Together, they create a warm rainbow of colors that borrows from the gorgeous colors found in nature during this time of year.

The secret to the palette above is to combine different fabrics as well as colors. Differing textures add to the depth and warmth that jewel tones already convey. Don't forget to add colors that step outside of the usual "Fall" palette - here we added a rich amethyst, but a peacock blue would work as well.

Winter

Why It Works:
It's hard to not think of reds and greens when it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, but deviating from the typical seasonal colors will make your wedding look like a sophisticated soiree rather than a tired holiday party.

Shades of gray punctuated with blacks and shimmery champagnes are a classy combination that works well with the overall feel of this season. Similarly, your bridesmaids will appreciate that they are allowed to look like movie stars at your wedding!
