Vendors We Love - If Looks Could Kill

Anyone woman who is engaged knows that brides-to-be are in front of the camera 24/7. Think about it - there are bridal shower shots, bachelorette selfies, and very expensive wedding photos on the horizon. Engagement photos are just the beginning!

Brides who want to look glam at a moments notice are beginning to embrace Eyelash Extensions, the hottest trend in Bridal Beauty. Where mascara can clump, eyelash extensions are au natural. Where fake lashes look just that (FAKE), eyelash extensions bring out your natural beauty. As they become mainstream, many brides are incorporating them into their beauty routine as a special splurge during their exciting engagement.

Milwaukee is full of big name lash studios that can make lots of promises, but as a boutique business ourselves, we know that bigger isn't always better. That's where Lauren Elizabeth Barbick from "If Looks Could Kill" comes in. This local lady knows lashes - she is one of the few beauticians in the area who actually specializes in lash extensions, meaning that they are her full time job.

Although she specializes in lashes, Lauren has a ton of tools at her disposal that can glam up any bride-to-be. That's why she is offering our Miss Ruby Shoppers a great Bridal Beauty Package for half price. Either pamper yourself in the months before your wedding, or purchase a package as a gift for a fellow engaged lady.

Either way, you get to support a local business and look great doing it!

Vendors We Love - Holey Moley Doughnuts

We have a confession: Miss Ruby Boutique consultants like food in all its forms. But when we heard that Holey Moley started catering weddings, we knew that it was news we just had to share with our brides!

While they may have a silly name, their doughnuts are seriously delicious. They are always made from scratch and come in a variety of types (including cake, yeast raised, filled, fritters, and holes), flavors, and even have gluten-free options so that everyone can enjoy! They have been a Third Ward staple since they opened and a staple in the Miss Ruby break room on early Saturday mornings!

Now that they cater weddings, brides who want to rep Milwaukee can share these amazing treats with their guests from near and far. Ordering a doughnut "cake" is the perfect touch for those who want something unique, doughnuts served with Hawthorne Coffee are a great bridal shower brunch dessert for those who want to keep it more traditional.

Cupcakes may have had their moment, but doughnuts are the hottest trend in bridal desserts. Check out the mouth-watering images below, and be sure to pick up a wedding catering menu when you visit Miss Ruby Boutique!

Siri Mother of Occasion Trunk Show FAQ

Still looking for the right dress for an upcoming wedding?
Browse the latest Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom styles next weekend at Miss Ruby!

Want to learn more before scheduling an appointment? Read answers to Frequently Asked Questions below.

What Exactly is a Mother of Occasion Trunk Show?
A Trunk Show is where we (for a short time only) carry styles in our store that we do not usually have. In this case, Siri is sending us dozens of popular Mother of Occasion styles so that we have more options for mothers who are still looking for the perfect dress for their son or daughter's wedding.

What Designers Will You Carry?
This Trunk Show focuses exclusively on the designer Siri - you can learn more about this designer by clicking here.

What Can I Expect at My Appointment?
During your 90-minute appointment you will meet with your stylist, and she will give you an introduction to the store and our selection of dresses. Your stylist will serve as your helper throughout the entire 90 minutes, making sure your gowns are pinned correctly, accessories are added as needed, and all your questions are answered.

What if I Don't Like The Color of the Dress In Store?
Nearly all of our dresses can be ordered in a variety of different colors, fabrics, and patterns. If you are loving the fit of a dress, your Miss Ruby stylist can show you the other color options available for order. Please note: Dresses take up to 16 weeks to arrive in-store from time of order.

The Wedding is Fast Approaching - What Are My Options?
For mothers who have a wedding taking place within the next few months, we will have a variety of styles that are available for purchase off the rack. This means, if the style and color work for you, you can purchase the in-store sample and take the dress home with you when you leave the boutique!

How Can I Prepare for my Appointment?
Before your appointment, look online to familiarize yourself with the styles we will have in store. If you have any questions about what you are expected to wear, be sure to ask the bride! She may have a specific color that she wants you to wear, or she may let you choose whatever color and style you prefer. Either way, knowing what you are looking for before you come to the boutique will make the appointment run smoother.

What Undergarments Should I Wear?
Wearing proper undergarments is also key. If you know that you are going to be wearing spanks or similar undergarments - bring them with you to your appointment! If you are unsure of your undergarments, we recommend nude bra and panties with minimal pushup.

Who Should I Bring Along With Me?
Be thoughtful about who you bring with you to your appointment. If there are friends or family members who's opinions are important, we encourage you to bring them along! Often, friends, husbands, or even the bride/groom come to the appointment as well.

If I Can't Decide on a Dress, Can I Come Back the Following Weekend?
We would love to have you come back to our store! Just keep in mind that most of the Siri Mother of Occasion dresses we will have in our store are available for order/purchase during the Trunk Show ONLY - we recommend you are ready to decide at your appointment if the dress is right for you. Otherwise, you may not have the option to try it on or order it at a later date.

If I an Unsure of My Schedule, Can I Browse Your Dresses Without an Appointment?
You are more than welcome to stop in our store to browse, however without an appointment we cannot guarantee that there will be a fitting room open or a stylist available to answer your questions. Our fitting rooms are promised only to customers with appointments. We are more than happy to squeeze you in if we are able, but we recommend you schedule an appointment for the best service possible.

What If I Have More Questions About the Trunk Show?
Call our boutique at (414) 755-2900 - one of our experienced consultants will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
