Styled Shoot - Sandhill Farm

Earthy. Etherial. Atmospheric.

All of these words describe the latest Styled Shoot from ultra-talented photographer Joe Hang. With Sandhill Farm's sturdy evergreens as the background for the shoot, he utilized an earthy palate to showcase items from local vendors - including our beautiful "Scarlet" dress from Willowby by Watters.

Take a look at these incredible photos and grab some inspiration for your own wedding from the color palate below. And if you want to look as effortlessly elegant as the bride, be sure to make an appointment to grab your own Willowby gown from Miss Ruby Boutique

2016 Bohemian Wedding Style

Mason jars have had their moment, but 2016 brides who want to keep their wedding from turning into a burlap-wrapped cliche are using unexpected elements to make their big day both earthy and elegant. Brides are now opting for a nature-inspired, woodsy wedding palate instead of the overdone faux-rustic theme.

If you want a 2016 boho wedding that will "wow" your guests, incorporate the following ideas:

- Frocks -

Brides who want to be beautiful and bohemian in 2016 are opting for sheer lace details. Many designers are catering to brides who want an easy, breezy look by designing dresses with champagne-colored linings, sheer details, or unexpected pops of lace.
Willowby by Watters is one of these brands.

- Adornment -

In the past, boho brides have shied away from veils, seeing them as too traditional for their laid-back affair. We're happy to announce that in 2016, veils are making a comeback in a big way. Lace-trimmed veils paired with flower crowns are an unexpected pairing that provides any bride with laid-back elegance that stays right on trend.

- Flora -

A 2016 bohemian wedding gets back to nature - taking the elegant colors and textures of the wilderness and bringing them (untouched) to center stage. Succulents have been replaced by bouquets and centerpieces that take greenery to the next level. For brides who still want flowers to take center stage, wild flowers are the way to go.

- Confection -

Say good bye to bite-sized goodies. Cupcakes were an adorable alternative to a traditional wedding cake, but any 2016 boho bride who wants to stay on trend will re-embrace the cake...but with a new twist of course. If you want your confection to be absolute perfection, you're going to have to strip down. "Naked Cakes" are the newest trend in wedding pastry,
and they fit into any bohemian theme effortlessly.

- Garnish -

2016's take on boho style decidedly does not include burlap. Replace this element with a rustic barn-board table runner or rustic flower garland. Instead of mason jars, brides who want to stand out are opting for brown glass bottles or vintage milk-glass. The best part is that all of these items are as inexpensive as they are unexpected.

Playful Side Ponytail: For the fun-loving lady who’s looking to try something different, a sweet side ponytail is the perfect way to play up a bridal beauty look! Consider giving volume to the crown of your hair for a little more ‘oomf, opt to style the ends with a curling iron or add a unique hair piece. This look is all about having fun, so get creative and make it your own!

Gorgeous loose curls and photography courtesty of George Street Photography!

Casual Loose Curls: Loose, blown-out waves are lovely for the casual girl who prefers a laid-back wedding day beauty look, as opposed to the traditional up-do. This style looks especially beautiful when paired with a cascading, finger-tip veil.

Elegant High Bun: Sophisticated and glamorous, a chic high bun is sure to be the statement-making feature of your wedding day look! Bonus points if you add a stunning cathedral veil to the back of the bun to amp up the wow factor.

Half-Up, Half-Down: Looking to get the best of both worlds? Sport a half-up, half-down bridal hairstyle! Try pinning the top section of your hair up into an intricate twist or pretty braid, while leaving the bottom section down to frame your face. Wedding Inspiration: Polka Dots

If you are looking for a little pattern to make a big "pop" at your wedding, look no further. Both whimsically gleeful and decidedly graphic, polka dot accents have a unique way of making a wedding look classy and cheerful all at once. We were surprised as we scoured the web how many brides have incorporated this playful pattern into their big day, and how inspiring something as little as a dot could be!

The rules when playing with polka dots are simple - multicolored accents give the look of a child-like wonderland, while sticking with a monochromatic color palette keeps it modern, sleek and subtle. Whether you want to keep it simple or make dots a big part of you big day, check out how other brides have incorporated this look into their wedding decor.
