Miss Ruby's Volunteer Night at Kathy's House

The Milwaukee community has done so many great things for our boutique and our employees, we think it's only fair to give something back from time to time. Last Monday, April 11th, our team transformed from Stylists to Sous Chefs as we prepped and served a meal to the resident's at Kathy's House.

Kathy's House is a non-profit hospitality house founded in memory of a woman named Kathy Kuttner Vogel, who lost her battle with lymphoma in 2000. Exactly one year later, her family opened Kathy's House in her honor.

Supported only by donations, Kathy's House provides lodging and support to patients, caregivers, and family members who travel to Milwaukee-area hospitals from at least 50-miles from their home for medical care. To date, thousands of people have benefited from the caring team at this great organization.

Our volunteer role was to cook and prepare a meal for the house residents, so that eating a home cooked meal is the last thing on their mind. It was a great way for us to work together as a team and give back to those in need.

Miss Ruby Volunteer Coordinator Lauren puts the finishing touches on our spread.

Valerie is busy at work in the kitchen cooking burgers for the hungry residents.
