Just In: Theia Natalia

Well our new gowns just keep getting better & better. We just received in the Natalia gown from Theia Bridal and it is nothing short of fabulous!

The fitted silk crepe skirt flows into a beautiful train. But the absolute show-stopper on this gown is the lace crop top. Super fun, stylish & boho! We are so so in love. And then turn around and you've got an open back with lace draping!  This gown is ever so fabulous from front to back!

Bridal Gown of the Week: Theia Nava

One of our newest gowns in store is the Theia Nava gown and it leaves us nothing short of speechless! From the flowy silk skirt to the ornate hand beaded bodice you can't help but fall in love!

The skirt on the Nava gown is a lovely silk georgette. Which means it is super soft and has a lot of movement. Wear this gown in a variety of venues from an artsy museum to an outdoor botanical garden and anywhere in between. It's so versatile & oh so pretty!

Hand beaded pearls adorn the v-neck bodice.

And to top it off it has a low v-back! So beautiful!

Bridal Gown of the Week: Love Marley Katy

Love Marley is one of our favorite collections in store. Their gowns are perfect for those dreamy & romantic venues like gardens, beaches, and rustic barns.  The Katy Gown from Love Marley is no exception! We are so in love with this gown & know you will be too once you try it on!

Soft, flowy fabrics are harder to find in fitted silhouettes which makes us love this dress even more. If you are looking for something fitted and sexy for your outdoor or destination wedding, that offers a softer & lighter weight feel, this is a great choice.

Not only do we love the flattering fit of this gown - we are obsessed with it's lace corset bodice.
This bodice is flattering on all shapes & sizes but is an exceptionally great fit for those with a smaller bust.

The cathedral train, featuring a combination of lace & georgette, is so romantic and makes for such a beautiful entrance when walking down the aisle.

Advice for Plus-Size Brides in a Sample-Size World

When most brides hear "sample size," they immediately start to envision size double-zero dresses. The truth about our wedding dress samples is that they actually run right in the middle of the designer's normal sizing, and are usually a size 10, 12, or 14. With that being said, it is common in the bridal gown industry for dresses to run several sizes small.  We have girls of every body-type walk through our doors every day, and it isn't uncommon for many to say, "How will I ever find a dress if you don't have a sample in my size??"

So for any full-figured girls who are getting ready to gown shop but are having reservations about sample sizes, here are some pointers to keep in mind to make it the most pleasant experience possible!

1: Do NOT fear - you will find a dress!
While our samples may only be a handful of sizes, the dresses we can order for you to own run up to a size 24/26. If you are finding a dress you love in the store, you will only love it more when it comes in your size.

2. Let the consultant help you (it's what she is there for)
Our consultants are experienced professionals, and have helped brides of all proportions. In other words, they have seen it all! Don't let the fact that you are not fitting perfectly into a sample be the reason you do not go out in a dress, or let a consultant try to clip you in the best way possible. We are here to work with you and help you envision exactly how the dress is going to look on your wedding day.

3. Do Some Research
Our consultants can help find a dress that flatters your body type, but no one knows your body better than you do! Take a look at dresses you have worn in the past to formal events and decide what about them flattered you the most.

4. Check Out Trunk Shows!
Trunk shows are great because not only do we have dozens of dresses in at our store that we don't usually have, often we can request what sizes the dresses come in. If there is a dress by an upcoming Trunk Show designer that you love, give us a call so we can request that dress be sent in your size!

In fact, our Robert Bullock Trunk Show going on now features several plus-size styles, and we are currently awaiting the arrival of our Wtoo Plus Size collection! At Miss Ruby Boutique, it is our mission to find the perfect dress for beautiful brides - no matter their shape, size, color, or orientation. Contact us now to let us help you find the dress of your dreams!!
