Dress of the Week

The Lindsey Gown by Alyne Bridal
Ahh, the Lindsey Gown by Alyne is one of our all time favorites. We love the sweetness of it! I feel like this is the perfect dress for the bride who just isn't used to wearing dresses but wants something feminine and easy to wear on her wedding day. A non-strapless gown requires more work, fabric and design than a strapless gown. So that's why y'all see so many strapless gowns out there! So not only is the gown incredibly adorable with it's banded waist and hem, but it also has a tank style neckline with straps. Yay!! This ballgown wouldn't be a signature Alyne gown without it's gorgeous ribbon belt and organza flower along with silk covered buttons in the back. And to top it off it is 100% luxurious silk!

Dress of the Week

Watters & Watters style 8823
The Watters & Watters style 8823 is a very fun and unique bridesmaid dress. The neckline features a little "twist" along with a draped bodice.  This is a great fit for any body type!  The dress is fitted at the natural waist and flows into an a-line skirt. If the dress isn't enough you can add more style with the black crinkle chiffon floral belt. The shimmery tissue taffeta fabric is available in 12 different colors and the dress can be ordered in knee-length or floor-length.

What bridesmaid fabric is best for summer weddings?

Even though this summer has yet to prove it our summers typically can be pretty hot and sticky!   If you are having a summer wedding you really want to think about what fabric you will be putting your bridesmaids in, especially if any part of the wedding is outside. The lighter the fabric the better and the less fabric the better. So for summer weddings we typically recommend shorter dresses.  If you want to go with a long, elegant look then it is even more crucial to stick to a lighter weight fabric.

Fabrics we recommend:
1.  Chiffon - the lightest of the fabrics and the most flowy. This fabric will flow in the breeze, is very lightweight and won't stick to your body.

2.  Silk Shantung or Dupioni - this is still a lighter weight fabric but will offer a little more structure. Because the fabric is natural it will be breathable and comfortable. And of course beautiful!

3.  Cotton - an unusual fabric in the bridal world but a fabric that most of us wear every day!  Many bridesmaid collections have introduced this fabric. Again, it is a natural fabric and is very light, comfortable and breathable.

4.  Tissue Taffeta - tissue taffeta is a lighter weight taffeta that could still work for summer weddings. You'll get a little movement with the fabric and it is not as stiff and heavy as a satin or a regular taffeta.

Dress of the Week

Ruby Gown by Robert Bullock Bridal
The Ruby Gown from the Robert Bullock Bridal Collection is one of our newest gowns.  The lace mermaid gown with subtle beading throughout features a really fun and flirty tiered bottom. Each tier is trimmed with scalloping lace edges along with a sassy layer of tulle.  A perfect combination of sweet and fun. We love it!

The gowns are scheduled to arrive at the the boutique around the end of June. If you are looking for clean cuts in crisp fabrics you are in for a treat! Time and time again we get brides coming in looking for styles without trains, with a more simple feel, with no beadwork, etc. etc. Basically they just want a classic and gorgeous dress in which they aren't going to get lost in a sea of beads and poofiness. Well...once again we have found this in Aria Bridal.  We'll make sure to let you know when the gowns arrive but in the meantime here is a sneak peek!

Dress of the Week

Siri Russian Hill Dress
Hey moms, this one is for you!  The Siri Russian Hill Dress is featured in a G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S silk shantung elite. Yep, it is even nicer than the regular silk shantung!  The fabric has a very warm texture and sheen to it. It makes for a very classy look for moms. The dress features a sheath skirt with a fitted waistband and higher neckline in front and back. Great choice for moms wanting some coverage but not wanting to look frumpy. Pair it with the Classic Bolero and you've got one fabulous looking mom! The dress and bolero will be at our Siri Trunk Show through June 5.  So  now is your chance to check it out!
