The Right Way to Wear Two Dresses at Your Wedding

If you thought that an outfit change at your wedding was something only a Kardashian would do, think again. We're seeing many brides buying not one, but two dresses for their big day. The reason is simple: the bride gets a classically beautiful gown with a picture perfect train, and then can change into short, little white dress to dance the night away at the reception. That way, fashion doesn't need to be sacrificed for function, and you can truly have the best of both worlds.

Following this trend, we have found wedding gowns that make a perfect prelude to your reception dress. Having a dress that mimics the look of your bridal gown can be an unexpected surprise, while still letting everyone know you are the bride!

Check out these dresses and more at Miss Ruby Boutique, a perfect place to stop for wedding gowns, rehearsal dresses, or the perfect reception dress.

The Jayne dress by Robert Bullock has a bodice
completely covered in pearls...
....and looks perfect when followed up by the Whitney dress,
which has the same pearl details throughout.

The Flora gown by Robert Bullock has a unique bust detail...
and so does the Honeysuckle dress from Watters!

The Siara gown by Wtoo has an elegant lace neckline...
and the Camilla dress by Watters has the same keyhole back!

Aveline's sweetheart neckline with cap sleeves is perfect
for a formal ceremony...

for a more relaxed reception.

What to Wear to a Fall Wedding (as a guest)

Even though it feels like summer just started, before you know it the leaves will start to change, the air will start to chill, and all of those weddings you RSVP'd to months ago are going to sneak up on you. Fall fashion is a favorite of ours, complete with knits, layers, and cozy cardigans, but when it comes to fall wedding fashion, what is something current that won't break any rules? We have a list of bridal guest trends that you can follow when it comes to picking a dress that will last you through fall wedding season and beyond.

#1: The Fall Palette
Nothing says fall quite like rich shades of burgundy, gold, and plum. These are popular colors for fall bridesmaids dresses too, so make sure you choose a trendy style (like lace or a cut out  that won't have you blending in with the bridesmaids!) Even dusty shades of pink and purple fit the aesthetic perfectly - and can always be worn again with boots and tights on a fall date.

#2: Leather
The hottest fabric this fall has to be leather. Always a fashion staple for purses and jackets, now were seeing (faux) leather crossover to leggings, sweaters, and even dresses. Fall weddings are a great way to try out this trend, because while super trendy, a leather LBD is fun spin on an old favorite. Our one rule - keep it tasteful. No one wants a biker-babe at their wedding. Instead, stick with delicate details like cut-outs to keep it flirty and fun.

#3: Baroque
This trend is one for the ages. These super luxe baroque-print dresses remind us of French royalty and are the perfect statement piece for fall. They are gorgeous and usually found in deep, rich colors which fit the fall aesthetic. Embrace your love of prints with these gorgeous dresses, all perfect for a fall wedding.

Blue and gold are an unexpected combination!

Just In: Wtoo Cordelia Gown

This new bridal gown by Wtoo is already one of our new favorite styles! The Cordelia gown is a unique gown with a sheer lace bateau overlay and sweetheart neckline. The organza A-line skirt is contrasted with a satin belt and lace bodice. But our favorite part has to be the sheer lace back with the delicate button details!

Wedding Inspiration: Teal

At Miss Ruby Boutique, inspiration is everywhere. Today, two gorgeous Alvina Valenta dresses arrived at our store in a fantastic shade of teal. That was just enough for us to remember what a great wedding color teal can really be. Pair it with white or coral to keep it fresh, or gold and silver for a wedding that is decadent and unique.

Take a look at how other brides have incorporated this blue hue into their reception, and visit Miss Ruby Boutique for dresses in the perfect shade of teal.
