With the holidays over, we can't help but look forward to all the beautiful weather and weddings that Spring will bring. If you are planning a wedding for Spring 2014, or going to a few weddings in the coming months, here are some ideas on how fresh spring colors can compliment any wedding.

We're loving pops of mint green paired with simple, clean lines and rustic accents. The light green color is right on trend and can even bring a vintage feel (like the adorable heels pictured below) to your accessories. Take a look at our favorite fresh finds, and let us know how you are getting in the mood for your spring weddings!

Just in . . .

We've added another dress to our "little white dress" collection. The Watters Pepper dress features a sheer illusion neckline with twist detail on bodice and satin ribbon at waist. The above the knee length skirt is super flirty & fun but if your looking for something a bit more elegant it can also be ordered floor length.

Just in . . .

We just can't get enough of of the James Clifford Collection!! This amazing lace gown (style J11310) arrived the other day and it practically had us all in tears (happy tears of course). This gown is stunning to say the least!! The flattering fit and flare silhouette in a luxurious lace overlaying a super soft point d'esprit is so unique. The illusion neckline and cap sleeves detailed with lace edging are nothing short of fabulous. But wait it gets better...the back is accented with a keyhole and chapel train!  We promise you...you are gonna love this one!

Incorporate Celebrity Style on your Wedding Day

When celebrities are walking the red carpet in couture while all of us are sitting on the couch in our pajamas drooling at the fabulous fashions, it can only mean one thing - it's award season! At the recent Golden Globe Awards, stars brought some serious fashion to the table in the form of Dior, Marchesa, Versace and more. Winners or losers, they all looked flawless.

If you are looking to add some celebrity style to your wedding, you are in luck. We offer bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses that emulate the style of your favorite stars. Take a look at how you and your bridesmaids can emulate some of those red carpet looks.

The Mimi gown by Wtoo captures the young, playful spirit of Zooey Dechanel.

A Miss Ruby Ordering Timeline

To all of our recently engaged and soon to be Miss Ruby Brides - we have some key dates to think about when tackling the process of planning your wedding and picking out your dresses. Whether it is going to be a 2013 wedding or if you are planning on a long engagement, here are some key planning deadlines to keep in mind.

After the Engagement
After the initial announcements and celebrations are over, start thinking about the colors, styles, and details you want at your wedding. For brides who have been planning this their whole lives, this is easy! For those who haven't, start looking at wedding blogs and magazines for ideas.

9-10 Months Before the Wedding
This is when we recommend ordering your both wedding and bridesmaids dresses, as they take up to 4 months to arrive.  Take time to look at bridal magazines for gown ideas, but also don't be afraid to try on different styles and shapes once you get into the store. Our bridal consultants are willing to help you narrow down your gown options so you end up with a wedding gown you love.

By this time, you should already have your bridal party selected. It is especially important to get the bridesmaids dress order started now, because their order can't be placed until all bridesmaids have paid.

5-6 Months Before the Wedding
At about this time your dresses will arrive at Miss Ruby. Once we give you a call that your dress has arrived, we recommend picking it up at a time when you can take a few minutes to try on your dress before you take it home. This ensures that the dress is fitting properly.

This is when you would also set up your first alterations appointment. Our in-store seamstress is available by appointment.

3-4 Months Before the Wedding
If you didn't do this at your initial appointment, take the time to pick out bridal accessories such as belts, hair pieces, or veils. Every month we host a bridal styling night at our store - it is a casual and fun event where local jewelry designers and our very own Jackie from Jaxie Accessories are in-store and ready to work with you. We don't require a formal appointment, just that you RSVP so we know how many people to expect and how much champagne to pour.

1-2 Months Before the Wedding
At this time, you should be finishing up with your alterations appointments and be able to take home your dress in the exact size and condition that it will be at your wedding. We supply garment bags so that your dresses can be stored properly before the wedding. This also allows a few months of "wiggle-room" just in case last minute changes need to be made.

After the Wedding
Don't forget to send us pictures of your wedding! We invest time in your wedding vision and we LOVE seeing the finished product! We also can feature your wedding on our blog as one of our Real Weddings as an inspiration for other brides!

Bridesmaid Dress Remix: Bari Jay 230

Bari Jay #230 is not only a perfect bridesmaids dress, but also can be re-worn (really!) as a casual spring day-dress. Here we have it paired with a cozy sweater from Old Navy and a pea coat that mirrors the dresses mint color. Every girl should be prepared for the occasional spring shower with an adorable umbrella and whimsical wellies, like these lavender ones from Hunter. Just make sure your tote bag is big enough for a pair of heels to change into once you reach your destination! Finally, pink lips (like this one from YSL) and a rosy pink blush (like Nars Blusher in Taos) finish you off with a girly spring glow.
