A Beautiful Custom Look

Our Marketing Manager Hillary recently tied the knot in a beautiful Milwaukee wedding. Although her and her husband had a traditional morning affair, they opted for an evening reception that had a more relaxed vibe.

In true stylist fashion, she opted for a custom look from Miss Ruby Boutique!

The Dress

"I love crop tops and lots of color, but didn't want my actual bridal gown to be too trendy. That's why having a second look for our cocktail reception at Hotel Metro's Zen on Seven was a great compromise!"

The dress itself was a two-piece bridesmaids style from Watters, purchased at Miss Ruby Boutique.

"Because every bridesmaids dress in our store can be ordered in ivory, they are a great, low-cost way to create a unique bridal look."

To add a pop of color, Hillary reached out to local vendor Aeva, who created a custom dip-dyed look for her skirt. She also grabbed lots of inspiration from the gorgeous gowns from Sweet Caroline Styles.

"It turned out a little differently than I expected, but that's what I loved about it. If you opt for something custom, you need to allow your vendors to work their magic in their own way. They are professionals for a reason!"

The Accessories

In her hair, Hillary added a headband from The Fawn & The Sparrow that incorporated natural elements.

"I love the look of raw quartz, but every hair accessory I found was super expensive!! The Fawn & The Sparrow has such pretty options that are reasonably priced. I told everyone about my "Mermaid Crown" for months before I wore it!"

The shoes Hillary wore were a boho wedge style shoe from Jeffrey Campbell.

"I know a lot of brides wear flats at their wedding, but anyone who knows me - or has seen me at Miss Ruby - knows I'm not afraid of wearing heels all day long."
