The Desiree Gown from the Steven Birnbaum Collection arrived recently and it is like no other gown we have seen! Such a lovely gown with a t-shirt style bodice in a cotton dot lace fabric and a beautiful silk satin skirt. The dress features pockets and a v in the back. Our style has short sleeves but you can order it with long sleeves as pictured below...or even no sleeves at all!

Bridesmaid Dress Remix
Your prayers have been answered ladies! You can happily rejoice in knowing that the spring 2011 bridesmaid collection is jam packed with modern styles you can easily wear again. In fact, these new styles are so cute you may just want to buy them for your own wardrobe!
One perfect example is this stunning little number from Watters & Watters, style 8459. Featured in an antique dupioni silk with a bougainvillea dupioni silk obi wrap belt, this dress can easily be taken from wedding day to every day in no time!
While you can easily wear this gorgeous ivory dress with a wide range of colors, I decided to pair it with one of Spring 2011’s most impartial trends…Neutrals! Pair simple styled earth-tones including camel, beige and even a light romantic pink to give your sense of style a clean and modern look that is perfect for any daytime occasion!

Just in . . .
Okay, so just about every day over the past few weeks we have gotten in new bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning just about every day! I tear open these large boxes and practically squeal when I see what is inside! This box was filled with a sea of gorgeous colors and luxurious fabrics of which I just adore. The Alfred Sung Spring collection is so girly and pretty much features fantastic cocktail styles that can be worn again and again. Here are some pics of what we received but keep in mind that you have a ton of colors to choose from with each style and many of them also are available floor length. So so pretty!

2011 Color of the Year: Honeysuckle
Pantone LLC has been the world's color authority and source for color inspiration for almost 50 years. They have named Honeysuckle, a dynamic reddish pink, as the color of 2011.
Encouraging and uplifting, according to Pantone, the color honeysuckle elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life. Sounds wonderful doesn't it? Honeysuckle is guaranteed to produce a healthy glow when worn by both men and women. It's a striking, eye-catching hue that works well for day and night! And will be seen all over 2011 color palettes. You'll find it available in many bridesmaid dresses this year and Dessy even has their very own Pantone Honeysuckle to match. Pair it with gray, gold, soft-ivory, green and deep purples for fun and pleasing wedding palettes. We can't wait to see what brides create this year!

Wedding Gown Styles: Finding that Perfect Fit for your Figure
While we have now perfected bridal necklines from a blog post a few weeks ago, it is time to figure out what to do with the rest of your figure! Here are a few of the best and brightest skirting styles bridal has to offer!
The Column: Also referred to as a sheath, this sleek and straightforward look will gently skim along your body hugging all your curves. Created in light chiffon, the column will look effortless for a casual outdoor or destination wedding or add a touch of modern sophistication with a silk taffeta to create a bit more structure. Perfect for: lean and petite ladies who want to elongate their body lines, or tall and athletic ladies who want to show off their days at the gym.
The Ballgown: Typically features a close-fitted bodice top which flows into a full floor length gown and is absolutely essential for that fairy tale wedding. Perfect for: all body types! But works magic for short-waisted, or pear shaped brides as it will help to create waist definition all the while concealing your bottom half. Shorter brides should pay attention to the fullness of the skirt as it may overpower your figure.
The Empire-Waist: The empire waist gown is defined by its high-hitting waistline which falls right below the bust line and then flows right into the bottom hem. Perfect for: While most body types can pull this look off, it is ideal for a smaller-chest as the raised waistline helps to create definition as well as helping to draw the eye upward towards the neckline. Due to its lack of waist definition, it is also ideal for thicker-waisted brides or pregnant brides. So now you can eat all the wedding cake you want and look fabulous to boot!
The Mermaid: This stunning showstopper snuggly contours the body from the chest to the knees and then dramatically flares out from the knees to the floor. Perfect for: A confident bride! If you are tall, curvy or long-waisted, this dress will elegantly show off all your best assets.
The A-Line: A complete classic, the A-line features a fitted bodice which then carries into a fluid line which gently flares from the underarm to the hem, which creates the letter “A.” This has been a favorite of brides both past and present and it is easy to see why. Perfect for: Absolutely every bride! You just can’t go wrong!
Let us figure out your figure! With so many fabulous choices, where does one begin??? We invite you to make an appointment and let us help you find that perfect style for your body.

Just in . . .
These two Wtoo bridesmaid dresses arrived this week. I am loving the taffeta dress with the pleated halter! It is so chic and so different from other bridesmaid dresses out there right now. It is available in over 18 colors and size 0-24. And the olive strapless dress features a really unique obi knot in the back. Your girls are bound to make a statement walking down the aisle in this one. This shantung dress is available in about 15 colors and size 0-24.

Even more dresses arrived today! This time it is the Siri Spring 2011 collection. We received three really fun bridesmaid dresses in gorgeous new silk dupioni colors. The colors are so rich and are perfect for 2011 weddings. The Arbor bridal gown is a sophisticated and lightweight gown in silk shantung and the angled ruching is sure to look good on all body types. Once again we love the new Siri dresses!
